Pregnancy is such a joyful and exciting time as you plan for the arrival of your new baby. Whether this is your first or third baby, chances are you will want to create a special place for them. That means baby nursery decoration, but can it be done on a budget?
There are many things you can do yourself, even if you are not a Martha Stewart. Children's wall art is one place to start where you can be quite creative even if you feel you aren't artistic.
Splashes of color can look great on a wall. Inexpensive canvases can be purchased from dollar stores (as can paint) for your baby nursery decoration and if you have other children you can get them involved. Throw the paint on in random splashes, or even have a child paint a picture on it.
You could also use children's and adult hands to make a mural for your child's wall.
Prints can also be used and put into inexpensive picture frames. You could collect them from old calendars, magazines or put together a collage of old photographs.
Children's nursery rhyme books can also be color photocopied or old books bought in second hand stores could be cut up. You could even use the same picture and have them enlarged or reduced for your nursery wall décor. If you have a theme for your room, then search for pictures around that theme to coordinate with baby crib bedding sets or baby linens.
Baby nursery decoration can be fun and bring out a creative side of you that you never knew you had. With a little imagination, you can coordinate curtains, your infant bedding set, wall art, the baby change table area and the crib mobile.
Baby crib bedding sets are one of the most expensive items in your nursery decoration apart from the furniture, but it doesn't have to be. It is possible to make your own baby linens. If you are not someone who sews, trust me, these are one of the simplest things to create because it is mostly straight sewing. Search on the internet for tutorials on how to sew baby linens. There are many out there.
The most important choice is the fabric. This can make even the most inexpensive baby linens look fantastic. By making it yourself, you can coordinate your baby nursery decoration by having your wall art match your linens, nursery rugs and the painting of the room.
You will find tutorials on how to make baby bedding, baby blankets, crib bumpers, baby sleeping bags, matching cushions for the room, pillow cases and baby quilts.
